Our foundational courses help you to develop essential skills for employment including English and Maths to GCSE standard, a course that builds your social skills and life skills, and courses that teach vocational skills to help you in your future career.
English and maths are essential skills that are required in most job roles. Our team has a proud history of working with students returning to education to improve their skills and gain qualifications.
Each year we work with more than 100 students in our evening classes as they look to gain qualifications that will enable them to access further and higher education, training and jobs, or to revisit incomplete education from school.
These programmes of study are FREE for everyone!
This course aims to develop students' self-esteem and confidence, improve their social, life and independent living skills and maximise their potential through an individual programme relevant to specific needs.
There are 3 separate, full-time options for how students can take this course, each offering a slightly different qualification:
- Lifeskills - City & Guilds Entry Level 1 in Personal Progress Ideal for working on practical skills in the home and in the community.
- Progression - City & Guilds Entry Level 2/3 in Employability Skills Benefit from personal development and exploration of the workplace.
- Workforce Academy - City & Guilds Entry Level 2/3 in Skills for Working Life Well-suited to 16 - 22 year-olds ready to engage in meaningful steps towards employment.
A vocational studies course that gives students a work-related qualification designed to provide the knowledge, understanding, and skills to prepare for employment or further study.
