If you did not achieve a pass in GCSE English and/or maths, these subjects will form an essential part of your main course of study to support your progress and future opportunities.
Our team has a proud history of working with students returning to education to improve their skills and gain qualifications. Each year we work with more than 100 students in our evening classes as they look to gain qualifications that will enable them to access further and higher education, training and jobs, or to revisit incomplete education from school.
These programmes of study are FREE for everyone!
Our English and maths daytime and evening classes offer the opportunity to achieve either GCSE or Functional Skills Level 1 or 2 qualifications in an adult learning environment with experienced lecturers. We now also offer part-time entry-level English and maths courses alongside our newly launched Island Industry Skills’ non-accredited courses to build skills for life and employment.
We recognise that, for many, taking that first step through the door is the most challenging, and that historic relationships with English and maths may not have been positive but our student-centred and supportive sessions bring a fresh approach to learning - enabling students to develop skills and gain accreditation.

We also have an experienced and skilled support team who can assess your learning needs, put appropriate support in place and make necessary adjustments so that you can access your course.
