This programme is particularly relevant to all professionals in a role that involves leading and managing people, teams and organisations. This PG Diploma will require students to complete four 30 credit modules that relate to leadership and service development.
Course Aims
The programme aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to plan and deliver services within the dynamic context of professional practice by enabling the student to:
- Develop their professional expertise and political awareness through critical reflection
- Influence and contribute to the strategic direction of the service in a critical and informed way
- Synthesise and evaluate new theoretical and practice-based knowledge which contributes to professional and service development.
Entry Requirements
Students accessing this programme will normally hold a relevant first degree (2:2 or above). Consideration will be given to applicants who have extensive experience and can demonstrate that they have the equivalent ‘graduate level’ skills by virtue of this experience. International students must demonstrate competence in English language through IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all components) or equivalent. It may be possible to have previous learning recognised within this programme up to 60 credits.
In order to successfully complete the assessments for this programme, you need to be employed in a role that involves leading and managing departments, people and teams within an organisational workplace setting.

On completion of this programme the successful student will be able to:
- Critically evaluate the key concepts supporting advanced professional practice in leadership.
- Critically examine the legal, ethical and professional issues associated with advanced professional practice in leadership.
- Critically analyse contemporary leadership theory
- Critically evaluate the development and implementation of policy and strategy within their own area of practice.
Skills Attained
On completion of this programme the successful student will be able to:
- Use critical reflection to facilitate transformational learning in self and others
- Develop creativity, originality and strategic thought.
- Synthesise information from disparate sources to identify opportunities to transform and improve services.
- Critically analyse and propose solutions to work based problems evaluating their strategic alignment with organisational priorities.

The fees for this qualification are £3,600 per academic year. Applicants may be sponsored by their employer to undertake this Post Graduate qualification.
It is strongly recommended that all successful applicants have access to employer study leave, and attendance for the taught sessions is compulsory.
All students studying this programme will already be employed in workplace settings.
This programme is quality assured by Middlesex University but is designed and delivered at and by TGI University Centre. You will receive a Middlesex award on successful completion, and the leadership-focused modules are also accredited by the Institute of Leadership.
