TAQA is a suite of qualifications for people working in, or looking to enter roles in assessment and quality assurance.

Accredited by City & Guilds, TAQA Level 4 consists of the following units:
- Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment (401)
- Internally assure the quality of assessment (402)
- Plan allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility (403/703 - practical unit)
Your tutor will be available to discuss these options with you before enrolment. At this time you will also be required to identify a suitable mentor to support you with your studies and countersign your IQA decisions as needed. You will need to access at least two assessors to IQA for unit 402.
Course Entry
Ideally, you will hold a Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in your chosen subject. As you will be required to produce written assignments at Level 4, you should be able to demonstrate literacy at Level 3 and IT skills at Level 2, including wider reading and referencing.

Course Content
Level 4 Award in Understanding the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practice If you are interested in acquiring knowledge and skills about IQA, but you will not be a practising IQA, we recommend you complete unit 401 which will give you the Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.
Level 4 Award in the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practice If you are interested in conducting IQA within a centre/organisation, we recommend you complete units 401 and 402 which will give you the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.
Level 4 Certificate in Leading the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practice If you are interested in leading IQA within a centre/organisation, we recommend you complete unit 401, 402 and 403/703 which will give you the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

Course Assessment
Unit 401 is assessed through a written assignment. This will be issued and submitted via Google Classroom.
Units 402 and 403/703 are work-based assessments (observation of practice) and also require the compilation of a portfolio of evidence, submitted via Google Classroom. Your portfolio of evidence will likely include audio, video and written evidence.
