Course Details
The programme is delivered over two years. Certification is awarded after each academic year, offering flexibility.
Course Entry
Level 2: Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above across a range of subjects preferably including English language and maths, or successful completion of a Level 1 qualification, or relevant experience for mature students.
Level 3: Five GCSEs at grades C/4 or above across a range of subjects including English language and preferably maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit or above, or relevant experience for mature students.

Course Assessment
Assessment includes:
- Observation
- Written and practical assignments
- Externally set exams
Year 1: Focus on skills acquisition and personal development through written and practical assignments.
Years 2 and 3: Completion of Level 3 Extended Diploma, assessed through written assignments, practical applications, and sector-relevant production of materials and presentations.
Assignments are assessed by lecturers, internally verified, and externally verified by the awarding organisation.
Course Destination
This course encourages personal development, helping you to become a reflective, independent participant. You will develop self-awareness and apply knowledge across different settings.
In addition, you will participate in enrichment activities such as healthy cooking, basic car maintenance, communication skills, and exploring current affairs.
You will take part in various trips, including an expedition, climbing and sailing, with fundraising activities will support these trips.
Successful completion of the Level 2 programme (merit or distinction, English at Level 2, attendance >88%) enables progression to Level 3.
Level 3 graduates can progress into local uniformed and non-uniformed services, officer-level entry into the armed forces, or university.
