Introduction to British Sign Language (BSL)

Throughout the course, you will learn and practise fingerspelling the alphabet, greetings and everyday communication signs. You will also build vocabulary covering topics such as colours, family, food, animals, numbers, time and weather, along with many other useful signs.

The course is relaxed, friendly and highly interactive, with plenty of games and practical activities to help you build confidence and remember what you learn.

As well as learning BSL, you will gain an introduction to Deaf awareness, explore the history of British Sign Language, and develop an understanding of Deaf culture and why BSL is such a rich and important language.
