The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Level 3 Diploma in Site Supervisory Studies is a qualification developed by CIOB to provide career progression and increased promotion prospects.
The course provides training in site supervision for those who want to be or might already be employed in a supervisory role.
Students studying for the Diploma must complete six of seven units of study, one of which is mandatory.

Supervising health, safety, welfare and environment of construction works (mandatory).
Course Entry
UCAS tariff score 60 -120 or
- Level 2 S/NVQ or equivalent in a related subject or
- Two years’ experience in construction
Course Content
The course covers the following topics:
- Planning construction works
- Organising and controlling building operations
- Supervising health, safety, welfare and environment of construction works (mandatory)
- Maintaining the dimensional accuracy of construction works
- Working with people on a construction site
- Supervising construction works to existing buildings and structures
- Supervising the construction of new buildings and structure
