Course Content

  • Level 3: Extended Diploma in Art and Design

We work with the University of the Arts London (UAL), an art-specific awarding organisation. UAL designs and awards creative qualifications that empower and inspire students to reach their full potential.

Our courses are delivered through a series of art and design projects enabling development across a wide range of creative media such as drawing, painting, sculpture, 3D animation, film making, computer games, and graphic design. You will gain both fine art and digital skills, and project work allows you to specialise in an area of personal interest.

The course equips you with practical skills and theory for success in either university or the creative industry.

Course Assessment

A wide range of assessment methods are used such as practical project work, sketchbooks, written assignments, presentations, and reflective journals. These are assessed by lecturers, internally verified, and externally verified by the awarding organisation. There is also an externally set and assessed assignment.

Course Destination

Throughout the course you will also develop essential workplace skills including resourcefulness, creative problem-solving, teamwork, independent working, decision-making, presentation and communication, self-motivation and self-management.

In addition, you will participate in enrichment activities such as healthy cooking, basic car maintenance, fitness, and exploring and discussing current affairs.

To progress onto the Level 3 course you need successful completion of the Level 2 programme with a merit or distinction, English language at Level 2, and overall attendance greater than 88%.

Completion of the Level 3 in Art & Design provides progression onto our HNC/D in Art & Design, university, or art college, or into a broad range of entry-level roles within the local creative sectors.
