A beginners' course aimed at those who have a digital camera (not mobile phone camera).

You will explore how your camera really works so you can move beyond relying on automatic settings. This Digital Photography course introduces you to the fundamentals of exposure and the creative principles of composition, helping you take more confident, intentional photos.

You will learn about shutter speed, aperture, ISO, metering and focus modes, and how to use manual and semi automatic shooting modes. You will also discover how to judge exposure using histograms, understand white balance, and work with both RAW and JPEG formats.

Your course includes guidance on workflow, image culling and basic editing, along with an introduction to more advanced software options. By the end, you will feel more in control of your camera and more confident in your photographic practice.

You'll study at Coutanchez Campus (TGI College & TGI Apprenticeships)

The dynamic heart of technical, vocational, and further education in Guernsey.
