Could you be eligible?
You may be eligible if you:
- are aged 19 or over.
- are ordinarily resident in Guernsey or Alderney.
- do not already hold a full Level 3 qualification, or a qualification at a higher level.

We are currently gathering expressions of interest for the following qualifications as part of the pilot:
NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning
Develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to support children and young people in educational settings.
This could be for you if you:
- are interested in becoming a Learning Support Assistant.
- already work in a school and want a recognised qualification.
- are considering a career supporting children and young people.
NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for Working in the Early Years Sector
Develop the skills and knowledge required to work with young children and support their learning, development and wellbeing.
This could be for you if you:
- are looking to start a career in early years education.
- are seeking opportunities within nurseries, childcare or childminding settings.
- want to develop a career working with young children.
When will the courses start?
These qualifications are being offered as part of a pilot. We are currently gathering expressions of interest and will confirm course dates once sufficient learner demand has been established.
Expressions of interest are reviewed on an ongoing basis. The earlier you register your interest, the sooner we can assess demand and plan delivery.

What is a Level 3 qualification?
Level 3 qualifications include both academic and vocational qualifications. A Levels are one example of a Level 3 qualification, while vocational Level 3 qualifications focus on developing the practical skills and knowledge required for specific careers.
I already have qualifications. Can I still apply?
These pilot courses are intended for adults who do not already hold a full Level 3 qualification or above. If you're unsure about your eligibility, please contact us or submit an Expression of Interest and we'll be happy to advise.
I've been out of education for a long time. Can I still apply?
Yes. You do not need to have studied recently. We welcome adults returning to learning. If you feel you would benefit from some preparation or support before starting a Level 3 qualification, let us know when you register your interest and we can discuss what might be available.
Can I apply if I am currently working?
Yes. These qualifications are designed to support adults at different stages of their careers, including those who are currently employed and looking to develop new skills, progress professionally or explore new opportunities.
How much do the courses cost?
These qualifications are fully funded for eligible learners.
Will I require a DBS check?
Many roles in schools and early years settings require a DBS check. We can talk you through this as part of your application.
Are more courses likely to become available?
Additional qualifications may become available in the future, subject to funding. If there is a particular subject area you are interested in, please contact us and let us know.
