TGI hosts LSRN meeting

We hosted the latest regional meeting of the Learning and Skills Research Network on 31 January 2025.

The network was set up in 1997 by a group of individuals from further, adult and higher education who had met at a workshop on research in FE in 1996.

The purpose of the network is to help people, in going about their professional practice, to engage with research and development. It seeks to:

  • Demonstrate the value of research and development
  • Help build the capacity of the sector

The network is divided into regions across the UK, each with its own convener who organises meetings and events. The Islands convener is Dr Louise Misselke, Principal of TGI College.

The Guernsey-based event involved colleagues from TGI as well as practitioners based in Jersey and the Isle of Man who joined online. They discussed current research and development, challenges relating to creating a research culture and opportunities for collaborate research and development opportunities.
