Looking to take the next step in your career? You don't need to leave the island or your job to study for a Master's degree.

Applications are now open for the next intake of the Master's in Leadership programmes at TGI University Centre, part of The Guernsey Institute, with modules commencing in February 2027.

Designed for working professionals, these part-time programmes offer the opportunity to develop leadership knowledge and skills, gain a recognised postgraduate qualification and apply learning directly to the workplace.

Three Master's routes to choose from

The Master's in Leadership programmes are designed and delivered locally by TGI University Centre and quality assured by Middlesex University, with successful students receiving a Middlesex University award.

Students can choose from three specialist routes, depending on their professional role and responsibilities:

  • Master's in Leadership (Advanced Clinical Practice) – for professionals looking to advance their clinical practice and leadership capabilities.
  • Master's in Leadership (Operational and Strategic) – for those involved in leading teams, managing services and influencing organisational development.
  • Master's in Leadership (Professional Education) – for professionals involved in education, teaching and supporting the development of others.

Each Master's programme is studied part-time over three years, providing an opportunity to develop professionally while continuing to work.

Flexible routes to postgraduate study

A full Master's degree isn't the only option.

Depending on their goals and experience, students can also work towards a one-year Postgraduate Certificate, a two-year Postgraduate Diploma, or undertake individual modules as standalone continuing professional development (CPD).

This offers different ways to build knowledge, develop practical skills and explore postgraduate study.

Modules starting February 2027

Two modules will be available for Semester 2, running from February to June 2027:

Coaching and Mentoring (Level 6 or 7)

Develop your knowledge of coaching and mentoring approaches, including how to support individuals and teams, encourage professional development and apply coaching principles effectively within the workplace.

Policy, Strategy and Planning (Level 7)

Explore how policy influences strategic decisions, service development and organisational planning, while developing the skills to critically analyse policy and contribute to future improvements.

Each module includes up to 10 days of face-to-face teaching, helping students combine academic learning with their professional responsibilities.

Who can apply?

Applicants will normally hold a relevant first degree, but those with extensive professional experience who can demonstrate equivalent graduate-level skills may also be considered.

Previous learning may also be recognised towards a qualification, depending on individual circumstances.
