Kate qualified as a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) in 2012 after completing her BSc (Hons) at the University of Worcester. Shortly after qualifying, she relocated to Guernsey, where she gained experience across a range of older adult mental health settings. Her roles included working on long-stay and assessment wards, within a community team, and working as the lead memory clinic nurse prior to joining TGI University Centre in 2018.
In 2022, Kate progressed to the role of Senior Lecturer and is currently the programme lead for both the FdSc Nursing Associate and BSc Adult Nursing programmes, as well as acting as a wellbeing advisor. That same year, she completed her Master’s in Professional Practice, conducting research into the lived experiences of newly registered nurses following their participation in TGI University Centre’s wellbeing and resilience curriculum—a programme Kate co-facilitates alongside fellow wellbeing advisors. As part of her Master’s, she also achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Education. Kate is passionate about enhancing healthcare through education and is committed to supporting students across a variety of programmes to achieve their full potential.
