Environmental Integrity & Sustainability

Our commitment to environmental sustainability remains strong, and we strive to make the most of available resources to enhance other education facilities.
As we move forward with the demolition process at the old LOC site, it’s essential to understand the steps we are taking to maintain environmental integrity and promote sustainability. Our approach ensures that we minimise the impact on the environment while maximising the reuse and recycling of materials.
The soft stripping process is an essential preliminary step in demolition, involving the removal of non-structural elements such as fixtures, fittings, partitions, and finishes. This phase is crucial as it ensures that materials like wood, metal, and wiring can be separated for recycling or safe disposal, reducing environmental impact.
Many people have inquired about the upcycling and reuse of soft fittings at the old LOC site, and we're happy to confirm that a wide array of items are being repurposed across our education estates. This includes fire doors, IT trunking, various fittings, cycle racks, ceiling tiles, staircases, lights, and more.
Our commitment to environmental sustainability remains strong, and we strive to make the most of available resources to enhance other education facilities. By doing so, we not only reduce waste but also promote a culture of reuse and responsibility.
